averhealth, a national substance use disorder treatment organization, is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist the operations office in Richmond with accounting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists with maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Processes accounts payable, including tracking expenditures for departments and budgets.
Processes accounts receivable, including the application of customer payments, researching and solving payment discrepancies when necessary.
Assists with payroll processing and related tax support.
Assists with medical billing functions.
Supports customer billing functions, as needed.
Checks figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
Classifies, records, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records electronically.
Conducts and manages company-wide inventory.
Resolve requests in a timely manner, demonstrating a high level of commitment to meeting requirements within the provided guidelines.
Performs special projects and other responsibilities assigned by management.
Works independently and within a team on special, nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
Provides administrative support to other departments as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

General knowledge of accounting systems, especially QuickBooks
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree in Accounting, or related field, required
2 to 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required
Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Experience in general ledger reconciliations
Experience in medical billing preferred, but not required
Experience in payroll and related tax support is preferred, but not required
Experience utilizing QuickBooks preferred, but not required
