Marketing Intern

TITLE: Marketing Intern

DURATION: Spring Semester 2018

FLSA Status: Paid Internship

HOURS: Up to 15 hours per week when classes are in session and up to 40 hours per week during summer, winter, and spring breaks.

averhealth is seeking an enthusiastic Marketing Intern to join the marketing department during Spring Semester 2018. The Marketing Intern will help averhealth create a strong and engaging brand presence via social media.  Additionally, the Marketing Intern will support other marketing needs. This position reports to the Senior Marketing Manager and will collaborate with the Marketing Assistant as needed.

The ideal candidate is a college student with strong social media and communication skills. This position offers a flexible schedule as well as an awesome opportunity to gain broad experience in marketing.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Create content for all company social media accounts
  • Monitor social channels for trending news, ideas, and memes, then capitalize on those trends through social media accounts
  • Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities
  • Help distribute marketing materials



  • Passion for the marketing industry and its best practices
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms
  • Proficiency, or knowledge of, social media marketing tools such as Hootsuite or Buffer, as well as WordPress (or similar blogging platform), and Google Analytics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn other software programs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to resolve internal and external conflicts and issues in an efficient and effective manner
  • Ability to maintain confidential patient and employee information and materials
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time effectively
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team



  • Currently enrolled in a Marketing, Communications or Public Relations undergraduate degree program
  • Prior experience managing social media platforms for campus organizations, businesses, or as a blogger is a plus!
